Objectives The academic program of the Doctorate in Physical Sciences will have the following objectives:
Profile Graduates of the Doctorate program will be able to:
- Prepare and train autonomous researchers in physics, through the production of knowledge in the established lines of research.
- Link the research programs of the Doctorate in Physical Sciences to the solution of national problems in the area of scientific development, with a degree of excellence that corresponds to frontier research.
- Contribute to the strengthening of the country's scientific base through the training of researchers at the highest level, who are linked to the country's development programs.
- Promote scientific interaction with industry and public and private scientific institutes, through the identification and solution of problems of common interest.
- Contribute to the advancement of world scientific knowledge in the area of physics.

- Autonomously contribute to the advancement of the physical sciences through original frontier research in its different areas.
- Disseminate scientific knowledge at the highest level through research and teaching practice, publications, congresses and other scientific events.
- Contribute to the solution of national technological and scientific problems with the contribution of the scientific method and its specialized knowledge.
- Generate and/or develop lines of research through their participation in research groups or nuclei that contribute to the development of physics in the country.
- Cultivate their scientific discipline with high ethical principles and social responsibility.
