The economic, political and cultural situation of our country and our region raises the need to train a graduate in the philosophical field who is aware of the problems of our time and capable of carrying out a graphic examination of them. The graduate in philosophy intends to be a valid interlocutor in intellectual citizen debates on science, technology, politics and language in general, being able to participate or develop educational or cultural projects. The Department of Philosophy at Universidad del Valle forms part of the administrative structure of the Faculty of Humanities, which means that its development plans and its academic and administrative procedures are largely defined according to the dynamics of the Faculty.
