The Physics Department of the Universidad del Valle has more than 30 years of training professionals with a scientific emphasis in the area of Physics. The first Physics program emerged in 1966, simultaneously with the Faculty of Natural and Exact Sciences (Agreement No. 1 of 1966). Over the years, several reforms have been carried out, adjusted to the needs and circumstances of the country. Currently, students enter the program approved according to resolution No. 164 of December 19, 2019 issued by the Academic Council of the Universidad del Valle.
Throughout these years, the Physics Program has been consolidated and has achieved a level of competitiveness and excellence that positions it as one of the best in the country. The Department of Physics at Universidad del Valle offers postgraduate programs at the Master's (M.Sc.) and Doctorate (Ph.D.) level and has a faculty internationally recognized for its research work and production.
