The Economics Academic Program is attached to the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, which currently has two departments: the Department of Economics and the Department of Social Sciences.
Teaching in the disciplines of Economics and Sociology is reinforced with research and analysis of different economic and social phenomena. The combination of teaching and research is aimed at achieving, as a general objective, a structured training of its students that allows them to develop analytical skills in each of these disciplines.
The Faculty also has the Center for Socioeconomic Research and Documentation, CIDSE, with a long history of research, which allowed it to receive recognition from COLCIENCIAS as a research center of excellence in 1997.
The Department of Economics offers the Academic Program in Economics, in the undergraduate level. Students enrolled in the Economics Academic Program basically receive courses offered by the Department of Economics, which is made up especially of full-time professors, who combine teaching activities with research and most of whom have Postgraduate studies.
