The Master's Degree Course (CdLM) in Psychology in Health, belonging to the Class of Degrees LM-51 - Psychology, lasts two years. In line with Article 3, paragraph 6-bis of Decree No. 270 of 22 October 2004, the Master's Degree Course in Psychology in Health qualifies for the practice of the profession of psychologist and provides for a Practical Evaluation Internship (TPV) to be completed during the training course, which will allow the acquisition of knowledge and professionalizing skills that can be immediately exercised. In line with the aims of the LM-51 Psychology class, the Master's Degree in Psychology in Health aims to provide its graduates with extensive knowledge and practical experience in the various psychological disciplines related to the maintenance of health, and the prevention and treatment of chronic, degenerative and terminal organic diseases in the life cycle. The Master's Degree aims to train psychologists who are experts in the main application areas of Psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunology, Health Psychology, and Clinical and Community Psychology in public and private health contexts and in the third sector, in general, in all health situations in which the inclusion of psychological skills in multi-professional teams allows to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and perceived quality of care. The course of study develops from the basic teachings that characterize psychology and then focuses on more specific aspects such as the mechanisms that contribute to the maintenance of health and the development of mental and organic disease, with particular reference to chronic oncological, cardiovascular and metabolic, neurodegenerative and aging diseases. In addition, the course leads to the acquisition of intervention techniques and tools for the mitigation of disease risk factors, for health promotion and rehabilitation from disease in the life cycle.

The Master's Degree in Psychology in Health is open to those who have obtained a degree pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004 or Ministerial Decree 509/1999 and who have acquired at least 90 credits in the psychological scientific-disciplinary sectors (M/PSI). In particular: a) at least 24 credits must be obtained in the sectors M-PSI/01-02-03; b) at least 8 credits in the SSD M-PSI/04; c) at least 12 credits in total in the SSD M-PSI/05-06; d) at least 12 credits in total in the SSD M-PSI/07-08. This requirement must also be met by graduates of class L-24 (Psychological Sciences and Techniques). Those who are in possession of a degree under the old system prior to the reform of Ministerial Decree 509/1999 or a single-cycle specialist / master's degree pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004 or 509/1999 can access the Master's Degree, subject to evaluation by a special Commission within the Master's Degree.Candidates who have obtained a university qualification recognized as suitable by the Degree Course abroad may also be admitted. University of Milan in compliance with the relevant ministerial provisions and in application of the bilateral agreements in force.
The course will have a limited number of students in accordance with Law 264/1999. Specifically, access to the Master's Degree in Psychology in Health with a limited number of students. The selection will take place on the basis of qualifications and the ranking list for the entrance test provided for by the Master's Degree Course. The entrance test will consist of questions aimed at assessing the students' basic knowledge and will focus on the following characterizing disciplinary areas: General Psychology (M-PSI/01), Psychophysiology (M-PSI/02), Psychometrics (M-PSI/03), Developmental Psychology (M-PSI/04), Social Psychology (M-PSI/05), Clinical Psychology (M-PSI/08), Dynamic Psychology (M-PSI/07). The test will also consist of additional questions to assess the comprehension of the English language, with particular reference to the disciplinary
vocabulary For the purposes of enrolment in the Master's Degree Course in Psychology in Health - class LM-51 qualifying, those who have obtained a degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques - class L-24 according to the previous system and who have not carried out the professionalizing training activities corresponding to the 10 credits referred to in paragraph 5 of the DI 654/2022, can request the recognition of any professionalizing activities carried out in the degree course of origin. Specifically, he/she may request the recognition of: a) activities, carried out individually or in small groups, aimed at learning methods, tools and procedures, relating to the application contexts of psychology; b) practical experiences, workshops, simulations, role-playing, drafting of projects, carried out individually or in small groups, concerning tools, methods and procedures aimed at developing the knowledge necessary to operate in the contexts in which psychologists intervene. In the total or partial absence of recognition of the credits referred to in paragraph 6 of Ministerial Decree 654/2022, graduates from the Bachelor's degree or other degree classes provided for by this system must acquire the missing internship credits in addition to the 120 credits of the Master's degree.
