This Bachelor’s degree programme provides in-depth knowledge of dairy products, management and operation of dairy machinery, control plans that dairy farms have to implement, health and safety issues related to dairy products, corporate sustainability and dairy farm management. Theoretical knowledge is supported by practical experience. The three-year programme also includes seminars on specific topics related to dairy production, held by highly qualified professionals who work in this industry. Learning activities are complemented with technical visits to breeding farms, milk collection centres, manufacturers of packaging machinery and materials, official control laboratories and water treatment plants. Moreover, the University will partner with dairy companies, associations and consortia for the implementation of curricular internships, which are a mandatory part of the study plan. In fact, the degree programme strongly relies on the involvement of key players of the dairy industry, for example in the definition of course contents and the delivery of courses (with professionals acting as instructors and tutors). As part of this collaboration, dairy manufacturers and processors may also propose internship and thesis projects to our students.
