The Master’s degree in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability ( ECGS ) is designed for forward-thinking students who want to tackle the most pressing challenges of our time. This interdisciplinary programme combines cutting-edge scientific knowledge with policy, economics, and social perspectives to equip you with the skills needed to drive sustainable solutions on a global scale. Through a mix of theoretical learning and practical experience, you will explore climate change, resource management and innovative strategies for sustainability .

Programme Structure
The two-year Master’s degree in ECGS is fully taught in English and combines a strong multidisciplinary foundation with specialised tracks.
The first year focuses on a set of compulsory courses on core subjects such as ecology, climate change, environmental economics and chemistry. In the second year, students can choose courses from two alternative pathways, a.k.a. curricula:
A. Environmental systems: management and sustainability, with a stronger focus on economics and social sciences applied to environmental management
B. Technological processes and environmental sustainability, with a stronger focus on hard sciences and life sciences.
The second year is completed by an internship or a placement period and by the final thesis (21 ECTS ).

Admission Requirements
Entry Qualification:
Undergraduate diploma (or higher)
A. Students with an Italian university degree
Applicants to this Master’s degree programme are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences (L-32).
Those holding a Bachelor’s degree in other degree classes are also eligible, provided they have earned at least 45 credits ( ECTS ) in the basic subjects covered by the degree programme (chemistry, life sciences, statistics etc.). B. Students with non-Italian degrees
If you hold a foreign first-cycle degree (i.e. a Bachelor’s or other degree issued by a non-Italian higher education institution), the Admission Board will check your transcript of records to assess whether your first-cycle degree makes you eligible for admission.
As a general rule, the Admission Board is looking for applicants with a first-cycle degree as close as possible to those required of graduates from Italian universities, i.e. in fields related to environmental science, life sciences, etc. Please note that the Admission Board may ask you to provide further documents to assess your prior academic studies, and possibly invite you to an online interview, should it deem it necessary.
All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application as soon as possible. Please bear in mind that reply times may vary depending on the number of applications received.
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / German / French / Spanish / Italian.

A B2 or higher level of proficiency in English is required for admission.
How to prove your English proficiency
• If you have a language certificate accepted by the University, just attach it to your application for admission. Please note that the University accepts only certificates obtained in the last 3 years (2 years for TOEFL );
• If you are a native English speaker and/or graduate from a first-level university programme entirely taught in English, you are exempted from producing any language certificate;
• If you don’t fall under one of the two previous categories, your English proficiency will be assessed during the interview.
