First-year courses cover omics technologies, experimental design, computational approaches for the interpretation of results, plus an introduction to legislation, laboratory management and technology transfer. Practical training also plays an important role, with students doing rotations in omics laboratories.
Second-year courses focus on the application of omics technologies in diagnostic and clinical settings, as well as on ethics and decision making. Additionally, students are expected to produce an experimental thesis (25 ECTS ) based on a research project to be carried out in an Italian or international research lab.

Undergraduate diploma (or higher)
A. Students with an Italian University Degree
Applicants to this Master’s degree programme are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following classes:
Biotechnologies (L-2)
Biological sciences (L-13)
Chemistry (L-27)
Pharmaceutical sciences and technologies (L-29)
Those holding a Bachelor’s degree in other degree classes are also eligible, provided that they have earned at least 40 credits ( ECTS ) in scientific-disciplinary sectors ( SSD ) related to biology, chemistry, medicine and statistics. B. Students with Non-Italian University Degrees
If you hold a foreign first-cycle degree (i.e. a Bachelor’s or other degree issued by a non-Italian higher education institution), the Admission Board will check your transcript of records to assess whether your first-cycle degree makes you eligible for admission.
As a general rule, the Admission Board is looking for applicants with a first-cycle degree as close as possible to those required of graduates from Italian universities, i.e. in biotechnology, biology, chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences. Please note that the Admission Board may ask you to provide further documents to assess your prior academic studies.
Selection Process for All Applicants
All applicants meeting the above entry requirements (both Italian and international students) will be invited to an interview with the Admission Board. The interview will be held in English, either in person (for Italian applicants) or remotely (for international applicants and Italian applicants who are unable to attend the interview on site).
All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application as soon as possible. Please bear in mind that reply times may vary depending on the number of applications received.

Applicants to this Master’s degree programme are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following classes:
