In accordance with the mission of the Universidad del Valle, the Academic Program for a Doctorate in Biology Sciences has the following objectives:
- Train professionals with the ability to identify problems, plan, direct and develop research, as well as make original contributions to knowledge in Biological Sciences.
- Strengthen national scientific capacity by stimulating the training of researchers who contribute to the generation of new knowledge and the scientific and technological development of Colombia and the world.
- Promote the formation of high-level research groups with the capacity to lead scientific processes that work in the search for solutions to the country's socioeconomic problems.
