Business Administration is the study of economics and management. You learn to analyze companies' economic problems and develop business economic strategies.

Combine two subjects The Business Administration with Electives degree program gives you the opportunity to combine two subjects in one program. In your core subject, Business Administration, the teaching revolves around the economic aspects of management. You work with economic problems and mathematical challenges when you need to learn how to best manage and optimize the operation of a company. Through your elective, you have the opportunity to delve into another field of study and thus develop your interdisciplinary skills. You can choose from more than 50 different  electives  at Aarhus University. The teaching in the elective takes place at the department where the elective belongs and you follow the teaching together with students in the program in question.

Business Administration subjects with electives In Business Economics with electives, you work with subject areas such as organizational theory, strategy, external financial statements, financial management, marketing, financing, macro- and microeconomics, and business economics methods. You analyze management problems such as improving customer satisfaction or reducing employee sick leave. You also learn about how companies and institutions are affected by society, technology, economics, and legislation. In the fifth semester, you have the opportunity to choose to write a bachelor's project within the business economics topic of your choice. All subjects are studied together with students in the Business Economics HA program.

Choose your elective subject according to your interest and job goals. You choose your elective in the 4th semester and study your elective in the 5th and 6th semesters of the bachelor's degree. There are many options for combining your interests and career aspirations. For example, you can choose an elective in Psychology if you are aiming for an HR job, choose an elective in Social Studies if you are aiming for an administrative job in the public sector, or choose an elective in languages if you are aiming for a marketing job.

If you want to achieve teaching competence in upper secondary school (in the STX subject Business Economics and in the elective subject), you must choose an elective subject relevant to upper secondary school, and you must then not only follow the bachelor's elective but also the master's elective. The master's elective will be part of the cand.soc. degree programme. Many bachelor's electives are not relevant to upper secondary school.

Career opportunities The Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with electives gives you the opportunity to continue your studies in a number of master's degree programs, such as the Master's degree in Business Administration with electives, cand. soc., or the Master's degree in Business Administration, cand. merc. Your choices during the program help shape your job opportunities, and you can, for example, find work in areas such as teaching in the upper secondary school sector, personnel management, international marketing, financial management, investment, organizational development, management strategy or stock trading. The program opens up positions in both the private and public sectors.
