The Erasmus Mundus International Master's in Soils and Global Change (IMSOGLO) offers a unique, research-based education across four leading European universities: Ghent University, BOKU Vienna, University of Göttingen, and Aarhus University. With a focus on soil resilience amid climate change, population growth, and land degradation, the programme equips students to analyse and respond to global pressures on soil systems.

Students follow a multi-institutional study track, choosing between two specialisations: Soil-Plant System Processes (Vienna/Göttingen) or Soil Ecosystem Services (Ghent/Aarhus), concluding with a thesis in semester four.

Emphasising interdisciplinary knowledge and practical fieldwork, IMSOGLO prepares graduates to develop sustainable soil management strategies. All instruction is in English, and students benefit from international mobility, field schools, and collaboration with experts.

Career:

Graduates work in environmental agencies, research institutions, NGOs, and EU bodies, addressing soil health, resilience, and policy. The programme also provides a strong foundation for doctoral research careers.
