Programme overview
Main Subject
Computer Science and Information Systems
Degree
BEng
Study Level
Undergraduate
Study Mode
On Campus
You will gain a broad understanding of IT and insight into how software and hardware are interconnected. The education will give you skills in software architecture, data structures and interaction design. You will also be trained in using the latest technologies in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and robotics.
Mathematics plays an important role in your education because it helps you understand how modern software works. When you develop a streaming platform, you perform calculations that ensure video playback is smooth. If you program a self-driving car, you use mathematical models to predict and respond to its surroundings. And when you design a chatbot, statistics are essential to making it intelligent and user-friendly.
Together with your fellow students, you will work on developing software from scratch – from idea and design to testing and implementation. You will gain lots of practical experience in coding, programming and optimizing software solutions. We ensure that everyone can participate – regardless of technical level – and that no one loses focus on the technology working in interaction with its users.
From the first semester, you work on real problems, often in collaboration with companies, hospitals and public institutions. For example, you can help develop an app that makes it easier for people with visual impairments to navigate around, or a system that improves the security of online payments.
In the fifth semester, you will do an internship, where you will have the opportunity to test your skills in a company. We will help you find the right match – and in most cases the internship is paid. If you have an entrepreneurial dream, you can also use your internship semester to develop your own business idea in a startup environment.
When you have completed your Bachelor of Engineering degree, you can enter the job market directly, or you can continue your studies to become a Master of Engineering (+2 years)
