Germany and the other German-speaking countries have played a major role in the development of Europe throughout history. In Denmark, we have imported everything from trade goods to language and thinking from our neighbor to the south, and Danish-German relations are today characterized by close cooperation, both on the political, cultural, economic and personal levels.

On the bachelor's degree program in German, you will delve into the German language and learn about the cultural and historical contexts of the language. You will study the structure of sentences, the meaning of words, pronunciation rules and grammar and practice reading, analyzing, translating and producing texts in German yourself. You will gain an overview of the literary history of the German-speaking countries and will read some of the most exciting German-language authors. You will study German history, society, media and culture and gain theoretical knowledge about, for example, interculturality and the importance of memory in society. Not least, you will hear and speak a lot of German in your daily life and in this way become skilled in communicating in intercultural contexts.
