The Bachelor's degree program at Nordisk is for those who enjoy reading and studying Danish literature and language, as well as exploring different cultural expressions and media types, preferably in a broader Nordic perspective. In short, Nordisk covers the scientific field that lies behind the subject Danish. At Nordisk, you will therefore work with different genres, styles, oral and written forms of communication, as well as audiovisual and digital formats, which trains you to both analyze and understand the different expressions across media.

Literature teaching is the part of the subject that takes up the most of the study. Here we work with literary analysis and the entire history of literature. At the same time, we go in depth with individual texts and periods, and we generally use literature and the topics it addresses to improve our reading and writing skills. Language teaching helps you, through work with both oral and written forms of communication, to understand how language works and works in practice. Culture and media teaching teaches you to analyze and understand a selection of both contemporary cultural and historical media expressions and phenomena.
Career opportunities
Most people who have completed a bachelor's degree in Nordic languages and literature continue on to a master's degree, not least the master's degree in Nordic languages and literature, which gives you the opportunity to work as a teacher, for example at upper secondary schools, seminaries or university colleges.
