In the Bachelor's degree program in Philosophy, we deal with human understanding of the world, as expressed in art, religion and science. In this way, philosophy is about people, thinking and the world in the broadest sense. In Philosophy, you delve into philosophical questions as they have been asked historically and as they are asked in the present. You learn to justify your views rather than simply stating your opinion, and you learn to analyze arguments and disagreements.
Ethics, politics and logic
You explore questions about the just society, the good life and the morally right action. You learn to be critical of knowledge production, to distinguish between knowledge and pseudo-knowledge, and to analyze the evidence base for different claims in reports and media. You examine and discuss the societal and political implications of technology, and you practice contributing philosophical skills to current societal questions such as: Should humans be improved medically and technologically? What does the development of robots mean for social cohesion? What does scientific research into brains and consciousness mean for our understanding of humans? How are we obligated to act in light of global warming, and how should we relate to global inequality?
