General objective:

The general objective of the Master in Data Science is to train highly qualified human resources for the general extraction of knowledge from the analysis of information in interdisciplinary fields, applying techniques for data analysis with statistical methods, machine learning, techniques and theories in the context of mathematics, information science and computing.

Entry requirements and required documentation:

Register online at http://aspirantesposgrado.uson.mx and attach the requested documentation in PDF format:

  • Degree and/or bachelor's degree examination certificate or a copy of the intern letter, as well as a commitment letter that the degree will be obtained in 6 months.
  • Certificate of qualifications.
  • Certificate of undergraduate studies that includes the total number of credits and the minimum average of 80.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Proof of English language proficiency: the certificate must accredit at least 481 points in the TOEFL ITP exam, or level IV of the English Placement Exam of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​of the University of Sonora or its equivalent.
  • Three letters of recommendation from academics or professionals.

Pass at least two of four written exams in the following four areas:

  • Probability and statistics
  • Linear algebra and optimization.
  • Programming and software engineering.
  • Management of databases and information systems.
Carry out an interview with the Postgraduate Academic Commission to deepen the information related to their admission.
Additionally, for students with a nationality other than Mexican, the student's immigration form is required at the time of enrollment.
