The general objective of the Master in Data Science is to train highly qualified human resources for the general extraction of knowledge from the analysis of information in interdisciplinary fields, applying techniques for data analysis with statistical methods, machine learning, techniques and theories in the context of mathematics, information science and computing.
Particular objectives:
Train human resources capable of inserting themselves in the academic, social and professional fields with computational skills in design, exploitation and analysis of data on different scales and magnitude, to provide solutions in the context of information management in real problems.
Train human resources that master programming languages and modern statistical techniques applied to data analysis.
Train human resources with a spirit of innovation, creativity and an entrepreneurial attitude, who develop and promote the application of new knowledge and technologies, with a vision of social responsibility and a clear awareness of sustainable development.

Entry requirements and required documentation:
Register online at http://aspirantesposgrado.uson.mx and attach the requested documentation in PDF format:
Degree and/or bachelor's degree examination certificate or a copy of the intern letter, as well as a commitment letter that the degree will be obtained in 6 months.
Certificate of qualifications.
Certificate of undergraduate studies that includes the total number of credits and the minimum average of 80.
Curriculum vitae.
Proof of English language proficiency: the certificate must accredit at least 481 points in the TOEFL ITP exam, or level IV of the English Placement Exam of the Department of Foreign Languages of the University of Sonora or its equivalent.
Three letters of recommendation from academics or professionals.

Pass at least two of four written exams in the following four areas:
Probability and statistics
Linear algebra and optimization.
Programming and software engineering.
Management of databases and information systems.
Carry out an interview with the Postgraduate Academic Commission to deepen the information related to their admission. Additionally, for students with a nationality other than Mexican, the student's immigration form is required at the time of enrollment.
