General objective:

Train professionals dedicated to the systematic and scientific study of natural phenomena , using Mathematics as a language and combining theoretical, experimental and computational studies in the search for the physical laws that describe nature.

As a science, Physics fulfills two functions: one of spiritual enrichment, which consists of providing human beings with the satisfaction of understanding natural phenomena and incorporating scientific knowledge into general culture, and another of benefit in potential technological applications, which are derived of the predictive character of physical theories.

Specific objectives:

Train professionals with the following characteristics: rigorous physical and mathematical thinking, high technical management of mathematical tools, use of coherently structured models to study various systems, understanding of technological equipment manuals, and appropriate work habits in laboratory environments.
To train professionals who can function in the teaching of Physics at levels ranging from secondary education to undergraduate degrees.
Train professionals who can function as collaborators of a researcher in Physics, acting as an assistant in specific tasks of the work they develop.
Train trained professionals to participate in interdisciplinary groups that develop scientific dissemination.
Train professionals who can continue their preparation through postgraduate studies.
Train professionals who can function as collaborators in a company that requires the skills of the graduate, acting as an assistant in specific tasks of the work that is carried out there.

Admission Requirements

The general requirements to enter a degree program at the University of Sonora are as follows:

Request registration with the Directorate of School Services in accordance with the terms of the respective call.
Submit a full certificate of high school studies.
Submit a certified birth certificate.
Submit entrance exam and be accepted according to the terms of the respective call.
The others that are established in accordance with article 22 of the current School Regulations.
