This program is designed primarily for geologists, although the possibility is open to graduates from areas related to geology. The requirements for admission to the Master of Science-Geology Program are as stipulated in Articles 42 and 43 of the Postgraduate Studies Regulations of the University of Sonora, in addition to:
Possess a degree in Geology, Geology Engineering or a related degree (Engineering in Environmental Geology, Engineering in Geosciences, Mathematics, Physics, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bachelor of Ecology, etc.), but who meets the academic sufficiency requirements for judgment of the Postgraduate Academic Committee.
Submit a letter of intent where the candidate specifies their interests and the area of their choice.
Copy of updated resume.
Copy of official kardex (report card with general average) of the Bachelor's Degree showing a minimum average of 78 or equivalent.
Full-time affiliation to the Master's program, except for particular cases that must be endorsed by the Postgraduate Academic Committee.
Take and pass a written admission exam that demonstrates maturity and knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degree in geology.
Submit proof of the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination EXANI III (CENEVAL) accrediting at least 1000pts. ICNE.
Submit proof of command of the English language through the "TEST of English as a Foreign Language" (TOEFL ITP) accrediting a minimum of 400 points.
