To train chemistry professionals in the food area with a comprehensive profile, competent in the field of their profession, oriented to lifelong learning, with human quality and socially responsible in order to address social problems related to sustainable production and processing, sufficiency, distribution, safety and quality of food.
Specific objectives:
Contribute to the strengthening of values and attitudes that allow the graduate to achieve an adequate relationship and coexistence, work as a team, show leadership and flexibility to adapt to work environments always following ethical principles, promoting awareness towards greater and better production and distribution of food as well as an integral and sustainable use of natural resources.
Promote the formation of attitudes such as enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, broad vision, concern for their environment and commitment that denote the internalization of values that facilitate personal growth.
Promote and encourage an attitude of permanent learning through the development of logical, critical and creative thinking that allows the student in training to generate and acquire new knowledge related to food science and technology so that he assumes the solution of problems with proactive attitudes , ethical, sustainable and socially committed.
Provide the student in training with the educational experiences that allow the development of theoretical and practical knowledge as well as the attitudes and values that support the know-how of the profession of food chemist.

Admission Requirements
The general requirements to enter a degree program at the University of Sonora are as follows:
Request registration with the Directorate of School Services in accordance with the terms of the respective call.
Submit a full certificate of higher secondary education studies.
Submit a certified birth certificate.
Submit entrance exam and be accepted according to the terms of the respective call.
The others that are established in accordance with article 22 of the current School Regulations.
