General objective:

Train and provide students with a series of knowledge necessary for the full use of the advantages offered by the social group of the region in the economic model of Sonora, allowing them to understand in depth and from a historical perspective and discipline contemporary human societies and their forms of social grouping as well as their cultural constructions at various levels of evolution, organization, development and changes.

Specific objectives:

  • Train students with theoretical, methodological, practical, professional and technological knowledge.
  • Provide skills to the student that allow him to perform efficiently in the fields and subjects of the discipline, specifically in the accentuated areas such as development, environment and cultural heritage.
  • Provide tools and skills for the practice of specific aspects of professional anthropological application such as anthropological expertise, ethnographic research and intervention in the field.
  • Introduce ethical reflection on the social function of Anthropology and the role of the anthropologist in the framework of the orientation of the curricular model that the University of Sonora has regarding the problems of the contemporary world.

Admission Requirements

The general requirements to enter a degree program at the University of Sonora are as follows:

  • Request registration with the Directorate of School Services in accordance with the terms of the respective call.
  • Submit a full certificate of high school studies.
  • Submit a certified birth certificate.
  • Submit entrance exam and be accepted according to the terms of the respective call.
  • The others that are established in accordance with article 22 of the current School Regulations.
