The Chemical Engineer develops in the extraction, transformation and chemical industry, such as oil, alcohol, oil, soap, plastics and resins, paints and dyes, cosmetics, fertilizers, food and beverages, synthetic fibers, minerals and metals, among others. His work focuses on the design, calculation and assembly of equipment and facilities, management and control of production, operation and scaling of process plants, administration and marketing of products. The Chemical Engineer can develop in research and teaching areas working in parastatal and private industries, as well as in universities and research centers.

Admission Requirements

The general requirements to enter a degree program at the University of Sonora are as follows:

  • Request registration with the Directorate of School Services in accordance with the terms of the respective call.
  • Submit a full certificate of higher secondary education studies.
  • Submit a certified birth certificate.
  • Submit entrance exam and be accepted according to the terms of the respective call.
  • The others that are established in accordance with article 22 of the current School Regulations.
