General objective:
Train professionals who, in the practice of Dentistry , intervene in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases of the stomatognathic apparatus, as well as in the investigation of processes that contribute comprehensively to oral and dental health.
Specific objectives:
- Train professionals with solid comprehensive, basic and clinical training, with the ability to maintain a balance between theory and practice of Dentistry for the benefit of individual and community dental health.
- Contribute to strengthening the link with the social sectors, particularly the most unprotected, so that while the community is a complementary learning space for the student, it contributes to community dental care.
- Provide elements for students to participate in the development of research in epidemiology and dental public health, as well as in the development of basic dentistry, stomatognathic intervention methods and dental technology.

Admission Requirements
The general requirements to enter a degree program at the University of Sonora are as follows:
- Request registration with the Directorate of School Services in accordance with the terms of the respective call.
- Submit a full certificate of high school studies.
- Submit a certified birth certificate.
- Submit entrance exam and be accepted according to the terms of the respective call.
- The others that are established in accordance with article 22 of the current School Regulations.
