General objective:
The Mechatronics Engineering curriculum of the University of Sonora aims to train highly trained engineering professionals in the areas of Mechatronics to solve real problems in the fields of automation, mechanical design, electronics and information systems present in industries. Automotive Aerospace, Agribusiness, Mining, Medical and Energy. The Mechatronics Engineer must possess technical and scientific skills integrated with the values of resource conservation in a sustainable manner and apply them for the benefit of society.
Specific objectives:
- The Mechatronics Engineer with his interdisciplinary training, will have the ability to analyze, design, model, manufacture and implement technological systems, integrating mechanical design with automation and control, as well as computer skills, in different fields of the productive sector and of services, of small, medium and large companies, seeking the continuous improvement of production processes.
- His knowledge of the technological environment and his training in planning will allow him to direct and manage mechatronic projects integrating solutions to problems in the Automotive, Aerospace, Agroindustry, Mining, Medical and Energy industries, among others, as well as undertake activities aimed at generating his own company.
- The scientific and humanistic training of the Mechatronics Engineer and his responsibility in the proper use of natural resources with a sustainable approach, complements his comprehensive training.

Admission Requirements
The general requirements to enter a degree program at the University of Sonora are as follows:
- Request registration with the Directorate of School Services in accordance with the terms of the respective call.
- Submit a full certificate of high school studies.
- Submit a certified birth certificate.
- Submit entrance exam and be accepted according to the terms of the respective call.
- The others that are established in accordance with article 22 of the current School Regulations.
