General objective:

Train Engineers in Environmental Sciences trained for comprehensive professional activity, which allows them to study environmental problems scientifically, and propose viable solutions from the perspective of sustainability.

Specific objectives:

  • Provide an interdisciplinary approach to its graduates, with solid foundations in Natural Sciences that combine theoretical and instrumental knowledge (techniques, methods, instruments and equipment), with the abilities, skills, aptitudes and attitudes to identify, analyze and propose solutions to environmental problems and hydrological, in urban and rural areas, as well as the identification, prevention and mitigation of natural and environmental risks.
  • Train human resources in the study and solution of environmental problems, as well as in the Management of Natural and Environmental Risks.
  • Give the student the tools to carry out activities that contemplate the elaboration and execution of research projects focused on diagnosing and evaluating environmental parameters that directly and indirectly affect the well-being of an ecosystem (water, air and soil); as well as the treatment and/or elimination of contaminants in the environment, specifically in the remediation of contaminated ecosystems.

Admission Requirements

The general requirements to enter a degree program at the University of Sonora are as follows:

  • Request registration with the Directorate of School Services in accordance with the terms of the respective call.
  • Submit a full certificate of high school studies.
  • Submit a certified birth certificate.
  • Submit entrance exam and be accepted according to the terms of the respective call.
  • The others that are established in accordance with article 22 of the current School Regulations.
