General objective:

Train highly trained personnel to develop, conduct and evaluate professional projects in Educational Mathematics . It is considered that in order to achieve the intention declared in this General Objective, the structure of the program considers, as specific objectives , the training of personnel who can:

  • Identify the problems of the field generated by the teaching and learning of mathematics: in the world, in our country, in our University and in the institutions of the region in which it has influence.
  • Design proposals for educational intervention, based on a specific theoretical framework.
  • Apply proposals for didactic intervention, taking into account the theoretical and methodological elements of Educational Mathematics.
  • Analyze the results of a didactic intervention, from a theoretical perspective.
  • Evaluate the relevance of a didactic intervention project.
  • Communicate in writing the results of their work.

Admission Requirements

Applicants for admission must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related career.
  • Demonstrate that they possess the mathematical knowledge corresponding to a graduate of an engineering school.
  • Attend and accredit the postgraduate induction course scheduled by the Academic Commission for this purpose.
  • If required, meet the guidelines established by the Academic Commission, in a personal interview with the applicants who, having accredited the induction course, are called for this purpose.
  • Formulate a draft thesis, with the advice of teachers.
The Academic Committee, if deemed necessary, will include in the call for admission the procedures it deems pertinent.
