Training of specialists in the field of production of plastic products and processing of polymer materials — that is, substances whose macromolecules consist of identical regularly repeating groups of atoms. The production of such materials is constantly increasing and will continue to increase in the future, which indicates an increasing need for specialists in this field of production.

The program is based on the chemistry and physics of polymers, and includes the study of physical-chemical basics of plastics processing, computer modeling, equipment for plastic processing, systems and methods for designing the technological processes and production modes, the basics of computer-aided design systems, issues of improving the quality related to raw materials and finished products, waste recycling methods, methods to prevent environmental pollution.

Students master the principles of creating low-waste, energy-saving and automated technological processes of processing, learn to develop and implement technological processes and production modes of polymer processing, select equipment for the production process, establish the order of work, conduct experimental work, improve production efficiency, organize and control the work of operators of automatic and semi-automatic lines.

Graduates work as engineers, managers, technologists at large industrial enterprises for production and processing of polymers, as well as at small and medium-sized businesses that produce consumer goods from polymers.
