Training of specialists in the field of automation and digitization of metallurgical processes, process control in metallurgy. The program is accredited by International agency ASIIN (Germany), Diploma is quoted in Europe.

Graduates receive Academic Master’s degree in engineering and technology for 1.5 years of study or Master of technical sciences for 2 years.

A distinctive feature of the program is that it provides knowledge and skills in metallurgical processing related to mineral raw materials (metals production, utilization of tailings, basic technologies for metals production of) due to modern control systems, including digital, adaptive, optimal, microprocessor-based, intelligent systems.

You will gain knowledge on basics of operating automation systems for metallurgical processes, including mathematical models of objects and technological processes of metallurgy in control systems; also, you will master methodology of using information technologies when creating automation systems for metallurgical processes.

The program was developed jointly with representatives of production in Kazakhstan and takes into account current requirements for modern economy specialists.

As part of the program, you will study design automation of control systems, digital and microprocessor control systems, waste management in metallurgical industry, computer numerical control systems for robots, and resource-energy saving in metallurgy. The program includes theory and technology of obtaining strategically important metals, the main production of Kazakhstan and the world.

Magistrates undergo exploratory and research practice at “Kazatomprom”, “Kazakhmys”, “Kazzinc”, “Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium-Magnesium Combine”, “Kazmekhanobr”, Metallurgy and Enrichment Institute, “KAZ Minerals Aktogay”, “Zhairem Mining and Processing Plant”, “Terekti Mining and Processing Plant” etc.

Under academic mobility programs, scientific internships at Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, Colorado School of Mines (USA), Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA); Geotechnical Institute (Slovakia), University of Saskatchewan (Canada), Rhine-Westphalian Technical University Aachen (Germany), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Suleyman Demirel University (Turkey).

Graduates will be ready to create small high-tech metallurgical businesses. They are in demand at leading engineering, technical and management positions in mining and metallurgical sector - concentrating factories, enterprises of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, and chemical, mining-chemical and engineering industries, research and design institutes, and higher education institutions, large IT companies such as Siemens, Schneider Electric and LLP "Hanuel-ASU".
