Training of specialists with in-depth training and skills in the use of geo-information systems and technologies in geology. The program was developed taking into account the programs of the world's leading universities and current trends in the use of modern and new software products in geological, mining industries and in close relationship with the manufacturing sector.
Applied geology affects all aspects of geological study, geo-mapping, cartography, remote sensing methods of the Earth, work with applied geo-information systems and technologies, modern software products and databases.
The program includes such mandatory basic and specialized geological disciplines as physical geology, structural geology, mineralogy, petrography, etc. The basic and specialized disciplines of the student's choice include two areas of training: in oil-gas fields, and deposits of solid minerals (gold, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, uranium, rare earth elements, etc.), "Geo-information systems in geology", "Mathematical modeling methods in geology", "Geo-statistics and modeling methods", "Modern software in geology", "Geological assessment of mineral resources and reserves", "Modeling of geological processes and oil-gas fields."
Students learn to use geological information systems, to work on specialized geological and mathematical modeling programs, to calculate reserves based on new KazRC international standards, and to use UAV in geology.
You will be able to apply modern technologies for processing large amounts of information, analyze them for decision-making in line with the current trends in geo-information technologies sphere.
The program provides educational geological practice at its own landfill in Karatau, two production practices in geological, geological survey, prospecting companies, mining and oil-gas companies. The best students study at leading foreign universities under the academic mobility program.
