Training of specialists in the field of development and implementation of new materials for high-tech industries, considering the principles of sustainable development, resource conservation and environmental safety. The training lasts for 2 years, upon completion, a master's degree in technical sciences is awarded.

Program is aimed at forming the scientific thinking and ability to create original engineering solutions in the materials science sphere. Special attention is paid to mastering the digital technologies, computer-aided design systems, as well as the use of artificial intelligence methods in engineering calculations and elaborations.

Undergraduates learn to conduct experimental research work on studying the structure and properties of materials, elaborating the new materials with specified technological and functional properties in relation to solving assigned tasks, perform production, technological and organizational work at industrial enterprises.

Undergraduates receive practical skills in specialized laboratories equipped with modern equipment and instruments, computer technology and software. The training uses the latest computer-aided design systems of international level, such as ADEM, SolidWorks, AutuDesk, Compass 3D, MSC Nastran, Comsol multiphisics, and APM WinMachine.

Institute cooperates with many foreign technical universities and maintains contacts with professors from TFH Georg Agricola University (Germany), Pennsylvania State University, University of Loraine, AGH University of Science and Technology, CAUST, University of Texas, Braunswille, University of Science and Technology Liaoning (China), etc. Undergraduates have internships abroad at technical universities around the world.

Graduates work as materials engineers, technologists, researchers, teachers of technical universities, experts in the field of materials science and engineering in various industries.
