Training of specialists in the field of groundwater science and their interaction with rocks, surface waters and the atmosphere for geological, hydrogeological and engineering-geological, mining industrial enterprises.

Geo-ecology is an interdisciplinary scientific field combining the studies of composition, structure, properties, processes, physical and geochemical fields of the Earth's geospheres as a habitat for humans and other organisms. The main task of geo-ecology is to study changes in the life-sustaining resources of geosphere shells under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors, their protection, rational use and control in order to preserve a productive natural environment for current and future generations of people.

Students study the laws of groundwater movement and formation of their chemical composition, methods of field and laboratory hydrogeological research, search and exploration of underground water reserves, assessment of their volumes, industrial significance, solutions to technological problems of providing drinking and industrial water, engineering-geological and hydrogeological surveying and scrutiny, soil research, principles of forecasting elaboration.

The list is mastered:
  • Fundamentals of hydrogeology
  • Search and exploration of underground waters
  • Hydrogeological studies
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Geology
  • Ecological hydrogeology
  • Water supply and irrigation
  • Soil science and soil mechanics
  • Geo-ecology

Bachelors undergo internships in hydrogeological, geological exploration and engineering-geological, mining companies throughout Kazakhstan. Graduates work in hydrogeological, geological exploration and engineering-geological, mining companies, research and design institutes as well as centers.
