A graduate of the program receives a PhD degree after defending their dissertation. The diploma is accompanied by ECTS Supplement developed according to the standards of European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO/SEPES. Supplement uses the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), which empowers to recognize graduate qualifications in the international academic and professional space.
Program was elaborated based on the international experience analysis of leading universities and research centers. Special attention is paid to the training of doctoral students for the manufacturing sector who are able to develop environmentally sound technological processes, carry out environmental monitoring and rational management in environmental management sphere.
Doctoral students study natural and anthropogenic ecosystems; methods of environmental monitoring, analysis and assessment of environmental impact; design and operation of environmentally sound technological processes; application of modern biotechnologies, nanotechnologies and digital solutions for environmental protection; climate processes and adaptation strategies for sustainable development; assessment of environmental risks and management of resources (water, land, biological).
Program’s obligatory part is the performance of individual dissertation research; industrial practice; experimental research activities; foreign internships in scientific and educational institutions of the near and far abroad.
Graduates of the program are in demand in the mining, metallurgical, oil and gas, machine-building and chemical industries, as well as in international and national environmental organizations, centers for sustainable development and climate policy. They successfully work in government environmental structures, environmental departments of industrial enterprises, as well as in consulting and auditing companies engaged in environmental audit, environmental impact assessment and elaboration of environmental regulatory documentation.
