Specialties related to the field of standardization and metrology are in high demand on the labor market in Kazakhstan due to the tightening of quality requirements for manufactured and imported products in Kazakhstan.
Students gain the knowledge necessary for the control of measuring equipment and supervision of product quality. Graduates of the program check the compliance of measuring devices (such as sensors, meters of water, gas, electricity, medical devices, measuring equipment) with state and international requirements, operate and repair devices, develop new measuring equipment.
The program was developed on the basis of studying the experience of foreign universities and research centers. It includes the study of standardization and certification processes, product quality assessment, promotion of improvement of indicators and competitiveness of goods and adaptation to constant changes in standardization and certification at the regional, national and international levels.
Teaching is conducted by highly qualified teaching staff and experienced specialists of the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology (KazStandard). On the basis of Satbayev University, with the cooperation of Kazstandard, a branch of "KazStandard Academy" has been opened, where students receive dual education, undergo scientific internship and industrial practice in Kazstandard.
Metrologies work in all spheres of the economy, ensuring the accuracy of measurements and the associated safety of the population (such as in the design of buildings). Metrology also plays an important role in regulating trade between countries, in settlements between countries with different measurement systems.
The development of quantum technologies in the field of time and frequency, the transition to the optical range, the creation of sensors and detectors of a new generation requires the participation of metrologists in the process of digital transformation of the economy. Thus, a diploma in metrology gives you the opportunity to work in any industry around the world.
Graduates work as specialists in standardization, metrology, quality engineers, expert auditors, inspectors for supervision of ensuring the uniformity of measurements.
