PhD Digital Modeling of Mining and Geo-mechanical Processes 36 months PHD Programme By Satbayev University |TopUniversities

Programme overview

Main Subject

Engineering - Mineral and Mining

Degree

PhD

Study Level

PHD

Study Mode

On Campus

Degree program aimed at training doctors of philosophy (PhD) in the field of digital modeling of mining and geo-mechanical processes, new generation specialists capable of solving complex mining production tasks at the junction of geo-technology, geo-mechanics and information technology. Program focuses on scientific research, evolvement of sustainable solutions for the industry and transition to "green" economy.

Doctoral students master the methodology of elaborating the digital models for predicting the state of mining operations, planning mining operations and improving the efficiency of mining companies. Particular attention is paid to the redistribution of income within the value chain of vertically integrated companies, the digitalization of business processes and design considering the geological disturbances and tectonic faults.

Program includes theoretical, experimental and field research, data processing due to modern information technologies. Doctoral students learn to use licensed software products to build geo-mechanical models, analyze the stress-strain state of an array, and evaluate design solutions in industrial and environmental safety context.

Graduates of the program are in demand as researchers, heads of engineering and design departments, experts in geo-mechanics and digital technologies in the mining industry, specialists in sustainable development and digital transformation in mining companies and scientific institutes.
