     The College of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies offers a Bachelor's Degree program in Islamic History and Civilization. Established in 2005 AD, the program consists of 158 units distributed across 56 courses, with a minimum duration of 8 years or semesters required for graduation. To date, the program has seen 200 graduates from 11 intakes

A brief about the program:

     The program offers an overview of its importance to society by contributing to the national initiative of revising history through rigorous scientific research methods and a comprehensive scientific perspective within a structured collective framework. It also aims to educate the community on the significance of drawing lessons from historical events and applying them in the future, achieved through regular seminars led by faculty members in collaboration with various cultural centers, organizations, and institutions. Additionally, the program collaborates with the Manuscripts and Documents Center in Az-Zawiya Alasmarya and the archives of Zliten city. Moreover, it involves providing educational historical lectures to high school students and creating radio programs by faculty members to foster engagement with the community and promote awareness about the importance of historical studies.

     The program aims to achieve several objectives. Firstly, it seeks to prepare a generation dedicated to their religion, nation, identity, and the significant historical and civilizational matters of their country. Secondly, it aims to graduate competent university scholars and foster their involvement in scientific research endeavors. Additionally, the program strives to prepare and equip researchers and academics capable of participating in postgraduate studies specializing in Islamic history and civilization. It also focuses on employing modern educational methods and techniques in history teaching, with a commitment to their ongoing enhancement. Furthermore, the program endeavors to contribute to the collection of manuscripts and historical documents pertaining to the history and civilization of Arab and Islamic countries, encouraging researchers to explore, analyze, and publish their findings.

     Program graduates can enter various employment sectors upon completion. They may become specialized educational professors in historical studies, suitable for teaching at different levels such as primary, secondary, and religious institutes. Opportunities also exist in the Ministry of Culture, where graduates can work in public libraries and cultural centers. Additionally, roles within the Antiquities Authority are available, involving the preservation and management of historical artifacts and sites. Graduates can also explore employment in the Ministry of Tourism as guides, showcasing historical sites and providing insights into cultural heritage.
