The department of Law, Faculty of Sharia and Law, Alasmarya Islamic University was established in 2017 and offers educational program (bachelor's) in Law. The program has 120 credits, 39 courses, and a minimum of 7 semesters of study for graduation, 37 students graduated, and 03 batches of students have been enrolled in the program up to this year.
The Department of Law prepares legal cadres for society, especially southern society, due to  the problems, lack of law in the southern, moreover, people in the southern due to their special circumstances, they couldn't enforce the law  so this department will help them to develop the society and enforce the law.
The program aims to provide students with the principle of knowledge in the legal sciences, by qualifying graduates with legal skills, and developing students’ abilities in analytical and fundamental thinking, and creative imagination, preparing them for fields of graduate studies, and preparing academically qualified jurists to undertake legal tasks and work so that they  are able to contribute to the development of our country Libya.
There is no doubt that the Law Department has several professional fields after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in law, by following the judicial field, the Judicial Institute, or the academic field, in order to study a master’s degree or a private field related to the Syndicate of Notaries or the Lawyers.
