The Faculty of Arts offers a Bachelor's program in Social Service within its scientific department of Social Service. The program was established in 2013 and consists of 133 units, including 41 specialized courses and 20 general supportive courses. It requires a minimum of eight semesters to complete. The program has produced 71 graduates so far, spanning across five batches.

      The program aims to prepare specialized educational professionals in the field of social work, equipped with modern knowledge and professional skills. These include research and communication skills, which are applied in the social work profession across various institutions serving the community. The program seeks to graduate competent students in social work who can meet the needs of the community in different areas. It also aims to produce social work specialists to work in educational, medical, family, child, rehabilitation and correctional institutions, as well as in youth, elderly, and disabled care, and in handling crises involving deviant individuals. The program plays a crucial role in addressing the social needs of the community and promoting social welfare

      The objectives of the Social Work program are as follows: to enable students to acquire knowledge of the concepts, principles, and fundamentals of the social work profession and social care; to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to understand and interpret student issues through professional practice, serving individuals and communities; to provide students with the necessary information to interact with different segments of society and care for special groups; to professionally prepare students to work in various educational institutions; to develop their ability to address and diagnose problems and find solutions; to impart research skills and ethical standards of the social work profession; to provide students with educational, psychological, and foundational skills in other related subjects such as Arabic language, Islamic studies, English language, and computer literacy

       The program equips students in the field of Social Service with scientific competencies to meet the needs of society across various domains and pursue further studies. Graduates are prepared to work as social work specialists in areas such as education, healthcare, family services, child welfare, rehabilitation and correctional institutions, youth services, elderly care, disability care, and crisis intervention for deviant individuals. They are also capable of conducting social research and studies to address social issues and challenges faced by the Libyan community, providing necessary solutions and recommendations.
