The department of Finance and Banking, Faculty of Economics, Alasmarya Islamic University was established in 2015, the department offers educational program (bachelor's) in finance and banking. The program has 137 credits, 48 courses, and a minimum of 7 semesters of study for graduation, 33 students graduated, and 07 batches of students have been enrolled in the program up to this year.

The department aims   to create a scientific environment that sponsor the research in the financial field, and to provide the labor market with graduates who have professional and academic knowledge, abilities, and skills, and who possess moral values ​​that enable them to face the challenges posed by the changing business environment, through innovating programs, preparing research, and striving to establish an effective relationship with the environment. The Department of Islamic Banking and Finance seeks to be one of the best departments at the scientific and administrative levels, by applying the standards of quality assurance and academic accreditation issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and keeping up with the development move in the scientific departments in the international universities, as well as strengthening the department’s relationship with state departments and companies, the public and private sectors and consulting offices in the financial fields.

The Department of Islamic Banking and Finance aims to graduate specialized competencies in financial sciences according to the Islamic perspective that contribute to the development of public and private institutions, to develop the individual’s abilities, supporting his personal skills, and developing his intellectual abilities to a stage where his/her motivation moves towards self-learning on a continuous basis throughout his/her life, to conduct specialized scientific research and studies and link them to economic development plans, to retraining, re-qualify and redevelop the skills of individuals working in various professional fields to ensure that they keep up with the continuous and accelerating technical development that the world is witnessing, especially those skills that are compatible with Islamic legislation, to make the most of highly scientifically qualified energies in the field of developing education and scientific research, to strengthen scientific linking with corresponding universities, colleges, and educational institutions local and abroad, to contribute in providing advisory services in the financial and banking fields to public and private institutions. Finance and banking graduates could work in the following industries: Banks, insurance companies, real estate investment companies, financial markets, financial management within companies, working in companies, ministries, and government authorities, in the field of teaching, free enterprise, insurance agent, credit analyst - financial analyst, financial planner, financial consultant, asset manager, loan officer, and real estate agent.
