The department of Education and Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Alasmarya Islamic University was established in 2002 and offers educational program (Master Degree) in Education and Psychology. The program has 48 credits, There are 6 compulsory, 7 electives, and 10 required courses, and a minimum of 4 semesters of study for graduation, 02 batches of students have been enrolled in the program up to this year.
The program has contributed effectively to the development of scientific research skills, as well as to serving the community with all its various institutions and keeping up with modern technological developments. It also seeks to develop academic programs and prepare graduates and cadres to work in the educational and psychological fields and develop research skills in keeping up with scientific developments in the field of specialization in line with the culture of society.
This program aims to develop the educational and psychological knowledge of the graduate from different sources, to conduct purposeful research in the fields of education and psychology, to enable students to do Scientific writing in various educational and pedagogical fields. To solve problems and make decisions related to the specialty, to design diagnostic tools (interviews, tests, scales) and preparing reports that adhere to ethical and professional values and standards, to prepare students to use critical and creative thinking to create smart and applicable solutions that are compatible with educational policies. To think carefully about things that affects communication skills that focuses on self-reflection, efficiency, and effectiveness. To master the skills of statistical analysis and information processing in the field of education and psychology, to Know the theories and strategies of teaching and learning with a full understanding of educational strategies that are compatible with classroom
requirements, and commitment to goals. To developing problem-solving, decision-making, and innovation skills related to the fields of education and psychology, to analyse the concept of teacher training, preparation programs, and modern trends in preparation.
The graduate of this program can work as a university professor in higher education institutions and a psychologist in mental health centers, child care centers, elderly care centers and other services that serve the community. The psychologist can also prepare workshops and courses in order to qualify faculty members from other specialties and school teachers to take into account individual differences among students. It can also identify the nature of the psychological, educational and academic problems of university and school students and work to solve them in a right manner and use the best guidance methods to deal with these students.Programme overview
