The department of English language Literature, Faculty of Arts, Alasmarya Islamic University offers educational programs in the English language. The program has 136 units, 54 courses, and a minimum of 8 semesters of study for graduation, 25 batches of students have been enrolled in the program up to this year.
 Considering the importance of the English language to social business and community development, it helps to advance cross-cultural communication and understanding which improves employment prospects globally.  Graduates can engage in voluntary work and social work while developing their communication and negotiating abilities because they speak English fluently. In order to facilitate cross-cultural communication, the department also provides opportunities for presentations as well as translation and editing services. It advances scientific research and enhances the standard of education in the field of education. In general, the English language is essential for advancing scientific knowledge, social and economic advancement, and both.
The goal of this curriculum is to get students ready to become fluent in English and to understand its linguistic patterns, structures, and applications. Additionally, educate them in translation theory and help them become proficient translators between English and other Western languages. Enhancing the student's language-related cognitive ability so that they can stay up to date with advancements in science when it comes to teaching English. Improving the student's skills and providing them the ability to carry out applied, theoretical, and experimental research in the area of English language study. Moreover, enhancing the student's knowledge of English-speaking societies' ideologies and customs while preserving their Arab-Islamic identity.
A look at some of the program students' professional fields (job domains) reveals that graduates of the English language program have access to a wide range of career options. After completing their graduate studies, they can enter the teaching profession by working as English language instructors at colleges and universities. Graduates may also find employment in the public or private sectors translating and editing documents. Additionally, it gives them access to the hospitality and tourism industries, as many hotels and other tourism-related establishments require their staff to speak English fluently. Opportunities can also be found in the publishing and journalism industries and in international businesses and organizations where continual communication in English is necessary.
