The Department of English Language, Faculty of Education, Alasmarya Islamic University was established in 1998, the department offers educational program (bachelor's) in English Language, The program has 146 credits, 69 courses, and a minimum of 7 semesters of study for graduation, 791 students graduated, and 22 batches of students have been enrolled in the program up to this year.
This department is considered as one of the important departments due to the nature of the language that the student studies and the importance of the program that it presents to society. As it qualifies specialized cadres academically and educationally so as to meet the requirements of the society. English language sciences is very crucial not only for preparing teachers to be skilled for teaching students in basic and secondary education and encouraging and developing scientific research skills, but also providing the graduates with sufficient information in order to be trained for completing their postgraduate studies in English. Moreover, it helps graduates to learn how to build and develop English curricula in order to contribute to the advancement of the educational process.
The English Language program aims to inform students of the importance of English, prepare them as future teaching teachers, and to be able to use modern teaching methods in order to achieve the desired goals, also to meet the needs of schools for English teachers, and cooperate with relevant educational institutions to develop the department's educational programs locally and internationally.
Graduates of the Department of English Language can work in several areas and provide great services to society, and these areas including teaching in basic and secondary education schools, work in language centers, as a legal interpreter and linguistic editor in public offices and departments that need English, and can also work in the field of scientific research and the writing of scientific articles.
