The Design and Management of Development Projects (MGPA) option of the master's degree in planning aims to develop the knowledge necessary to set up, plan and manage a development project in an ethical and responsible framework towards the environment and society., respecting the quality, the budget and the deadlines with a view to the satisfaction of the client and the stakeholders.


The acquisition of knowledge and know-how allows the manager of development projects to have the information necessary to properly base his interventions.


The training results in an excellent knowledge of the methods of setting up and managing development projects, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, by an understanding of the global context within which the project manager operates.

Admission requirements

To be eligible as a regular student for the master's degree in landscaping, option design and management of landscaping projects, the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold an undergraduate degree from the Université de Montréal in one of the following fields: design (industrial, interior, graphic), architecture, urban planning or landscape architecture; computer science, engineering, communication, film studies or any other relevant field
  • have obtained in the 1st cycle, an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 (or the equivalent) or the average required by the home university for admission to a 2nd cycle program, if this one is higher
  • have worked in a field related to planning for at least two years after their first university degree unless, on the recommendation of the director of the program, the dean makes an exception.
