Classical studies invites you to discover the two ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean that shaped our Western culture, namely ancient Greece and Rome.

These studies essentially bring together three disciplines:

  • philology (study of Greek and Latin texts prior to the existence of printing and their edition),
  • archeology,
  • Greek and Roman histories.

Classical studies offer a look at the past to deepen our knowledge of the present world and to analyze the foundations of our language, our thought and our culture.

The Honors Baccalaureate in Classical Studies includes instruction in Greek and Latin languages, complemented by training in the history, literature and archeology of the Greco-Roman world.
A set of optional courses is offered in:

  • Greek and Latin literature,
  • story,
  • archeology,
  • philosophy,
  • linguistic,
  • modern languages,

and on the ancient Near East.
