This program aims to train professional musician-performers by giving them versatile training that judiciously integrates composition, interpretation and jazz improvisation. Discover jazz music from the 1940s to 1970s, but also fusion and contemporary styles from the 1970s to today. If the classical repertoire (blues and standards) constitutes the basis of teaching, the baccalaureate follows the evolution of jazz and adapts to the many styles that have appeared over the years: ragtime, swing, bebop, hard bop, free jazz, acid jazz, funk, fusion, Latin, etc.

A large proportion of courses are dedicated to performance: instrument technique, improvisation practice, knowledge of jazz repertoire and styles, participation in ensembles with multi-track studio recording including professional guidelines. Other objectives are linked to the general training necessary for research-creation: history and analysis of jazz, documentary research, writing, ear training. Finally, the program also aims to train musicians capable of communicating their art and acting as mediators in professional, multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
