The undergraduate doctoral program in dentistry aims to train dentists by promoting skills, knowledge and abilities specific to dentistry. This course also allows you to cultivate the personal qualities, leadership and interpersonal skills necessary for the practice of dentistry in a context of interdisciplinarity, international openness and cultural diversity.

In Quebec, the profession of dentist is an exclusive profession. This means that any person must hold a permit from the Order of Dentists of Quebec (ODQ) and be registered on the Order's roll to practice the profession. To obtain this permit, you will therefore have to pass the tests of the National Dental Examining Board of Canada after obtaining your diploma.

Combined pathway for the undergraduate doctorate in dentistry (DMD) and the master’s degree in oral sciences.

This combined path makes it possible to integrate the master's program into the structure of the undergraduate doctoral program in dentistry. It is primarily aimed at newly admitted students who have already accumulated 40 university credits. It allows future dentists to initiate research while studying dentistry, to obtain a double diploma at the end of the 5 years. This will make their academic record more competitive for undertaking in-depth studies, but may also arouse interest in research and an academic career.
