Offering a path with internship or supervised work, this master's program allows you to increase your professional skills and thus contribute to knowledge leading to the improvement of the nutritional status and health of the population. Develop particular expertise in one or other of the main fields of action of dietetics, namely clinical nutrition, international nutrition, preventive nutrition or management of services and programs.

The program focuses in particular on issues relating to nutrition and its effect on health. The issues are not only medical and nutritional, but concern, among other things, food safety and the repercussions of production and processing methods on food quality and the environment. At the crossroads of biological sciences and behavioral sciences, Earth sciences and social sciences, nutrition studies the complex relationship of human beings with food.

Note that this program does not lead to the right to practice the profession of dietitian-nutritionist in Quebec issued by the Order of Dietitians-Nutritionists of Quebec (ODNQ). If you want to pursue this profession, consult the bachelor's program in nutrition .

Pathway with internship

The master's degree in nutrition with internship is intended only for holders of a bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics, who are members of the Professional Order of Dietitians of Quebec (or eligible to be a member of the Order). It offers the opportunity to develop particular expertise in clinical nutrition, international nutrition, preventive nutrition or public nutrition, and thus contribute more effectively to improving the nutritional status and health of the population.

Progress with directed work

The master's degree in nutrition with supervised work allows holders of a bachelor's degree in nutrition, nutrition and dietetics or biological sciences to increase their professional competence and thus contribute to knowledge leading to the improvement of nutritional status and health Population.
