Admission Requirements

General eligibility conditions

To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Required diplomas and admission thresholds: Quebec

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.0 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Accepted diploma: Baccalaureate, Bachelor; duration of 3 years, or another undergraduate degree deemed equivalent.

  • Higher Technology School: 3.0/4.3
  • HEC Montreal: 3.0/4.3

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular student for the M. Sc. (biological sciences), the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI of the Educational Regulations) for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a specialized B. Sc. (biological sciences) or a baccalaureate with a major or minor in biology or an undergraduate diploma adequately preparing for the studies they wish to undertake, or attest to a training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained in the 1st cycle an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
  • candidates for the quantitative and computational biology option must also have successfully completed the BIO2041 Biostatistics 1 course (or the equivalent) with a minimum grade of B

The student must have a good knowledge of French and English
