The specialized bachelor's degree in translation gives access to the titles of certified translator and certified terminologist of the Order of Certified Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters of Quebec (QTT_IAQ).

The program is consistent with the translator's field of practice and the skills required for certification.

The bachelor's program in translation offers the following orientations:

  • General orientation
  • CO-OP orientation
  • International journey


The specialized bachelor's degree in translation aims to prepare students for translation from English into French in accordance with professional practice standards, in particular quality, efficiency and ethics, in order to practice their profession (as an employee, entrepreneur, partner or self-employed person). The graduate will also have basic training in terminology and specialized translation. The training will allow the student to contextualize his field of study and may also lead to 2nd cycle studies oriented towards professional practice or research.


At the end of his journey, the student will be able to:


  • Implement linguistic and cultural transfer strategies
  • Proper use of IT tools
  • Communicate effectively in a quality language
  • Implement appropriate research techniques
  • Manage projects
  • Exercise an advisory role
  • Develop a critical reflection on the practice on his practice by mobilizing the relevant concepts
