The program makes it possible to deepen a specific field of computer science or operational research.


The studies at the master's level aim at a specialization in a field of computer science by means of advanced courses. They are intended to introduce the student to research by exploring a limited subject and writing a dissertation. It is also possible in the General Internship modality option to carry out a two-semester internship in a company and in the Tutorials modality to do two one-semester internships in the laboratory provided that a professor agrees to act as a referee; an internship report must then be produced.

Admission requirements

To be eligible as a regular student for the M.Sc. (computer science), the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility requirements (section XI of the Academic Regulations) for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a specialized B.Sc. (computer science), or a diploma preparing him adequately for the studies he wants to undertake or attest to training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 1st cycle, an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
  • have already completed a minimum of 40 credits of university courses (or the equivalent) in computer science and mathematics, including courses in calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics, data structures and algorithms; the Department may, in the contrary case, impose preparatory courses and complementary courses.

The student of the DESS in machine learning who has completed at least 2 courses while maintaining an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3 can submit an application for admission to the master's degree.
The candidate must demonstrate sufficient knowledge of French, attested if necessary, on request, by passing the TFI test (international French test) with a mark of at least 605/990.
