Offering five orientations, the bachelor's degree in sociology enables students to better understand social processes and to develop skills in survey methods and critical analysis.

The five directions: The Fundamental orientation emphasizes theory and methodology while allowing practical training in research, in particular through laboratories or internships. This is the perfect preparation for higher education.

The Ethnic Relations, Immigration and Racism orientation takes into account the social changes associated with strong immigration. The training focuses on the analysis of ethnic relations, the life of immigrants and the implementation of government policies in the community.

The Population Studies orientation is offered in collaboration with the Department of Demography. It examines factors related to the ages of life, fertility, identities and relationships based on gender or ethnic or inequalities that characterize populations, and on the theory and methods of demographic analysis.

The Health and Society orientation introduces students to social approaches to health and medicine. She focuses in particular on the meaning of health and illness, the question of the social determinants of physical and mental health, the organization of socio-sanitary systems, the evolution of health services and public-sector issues. private.

The Feminism, gender, sexuality orientation, offered from fall 2019, is in line with contemporary social issues. At a time when the relations between sexes, genders and sexualities are becoming more complex in our societies, this new orientation makes it possible to deepen feminist issues both in the contemporary world and in a historical perspective. It also reserves a significant place for the issue of “gender and sexuality”.
