Admission Requirements

General eligibility conditions

To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Required diplomas and admission thresholds: Quebec

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.0 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Accepted diploma: Baccalaureate, Bachelor; duration of 3 years, or other undergraduate degree deemed equivalent.

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular student for the Master's in International Studies, the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold an undergraduate degree in international studies or an undergraduate degree in literature, humanities or social sciences, adequately preparing for the studies they wish to undertake, or provide proof of training deemed equivalent.
  • have obtained, in the 1st cycle, an average of at least 3.2 out of 4.3 (or the equivalent) or the average required by the original university for admission to a 2nd cycle program, if this is higher
